Welcome to Dodge City Middle School, home of the Cardinals.

Dodge City Middle School purposefully places our positive relationships with students, families, and staff as our main priority. This natural practice is to ensure that all student’s well-being is on the forefront at Dodge City Middle School initiatives and goals. Our climate embraces diversity and strives toward guiding our students to become advocates and positive voices for their successes and equitable futures.

Meet the Principal

 

Gilbert StillMeet Gilbert Still Jr, Principal at Dodge City Middle School. Still is a graduate of Newman University and has been serving in education for 13 years. In 2018, Still was named Kansas Regional Teacher of the Year. He looks forward to making many positive connections with students each day. 

 

Gilbert is an excellent fit for the position; he was the assistant principal and athletic director for five years and a classroom teacher for eight years. In 2018, he was named Kansas Regional Teacher of the Year. 

Before his years in the classroom, Mr. Still held various roles in the district, including recess monitor, paraprofessional, substitute teacher, and soccer coach. Gilbert credits his favorite elementary teachers, Mrs. York and Mrs. Cullens, for his career in education. They both showed an interest in him as a person and developed meaningful relationships that impacted his young life. Every day Mr. Still strives to make a positive difference in students' lives by inspiring hope and empowering them to achieve their goals and dreams - much like his Sunnyside Elementary teachers did for him.

Gilbert Still received his Associate of Arts from Dodge City Community College and his Bachelor of Science in education and Master of Education in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in English as a second language from Newman University. In December 2017, he earned his Building Leadership License and is now enrolled in classes for a Specialist in Education Degree (Ed.S) in education administration (Superintendent).

Gilbert is married to his beautiful wife Ashley and has one son and two puppies. They love hiking in Colorado and attending Sporting Kansas City soccer games. 

Gilbert is thrilled to continue to work alongside the Cardinal Nation staff. He said, "Dodge City Middle School has an amazing staff that goes above and beyond for their students and families."

Meet the Assistant Principals

Michelle BognerMeet Michelle Bogner, Assistant Principal at Dodge City Middle School. She has been part of Dodge City Public Schools for 21 years. Bogner started her career as teacher at Northwest Elementary School in 2003 before joining Dodge City Middle School as an Instructional Coach in 2019.  She then began her current role as Assistant Principal.   

Bogner is a graduate of Dodge City High School (Class of 95’).  In 2003, she received her Bachelor of Science (Fort Hays State University).  Bogner continued her education and received a Master of Education in Reading Specialist (Mid-American Nazarene University 2005),  Master of Science in Elementary Education (Emporia State University 2009) and Master of Educational Leadership (Kansas State University 2013). 

Michelle was awarded 2013 Kansas Master Teacher and nominated for Kansas Teacher of the Year in 2015. 

She believes that every student deserves:

Michelle’s continued motivation for joining USD #443’s supportive role for families and staff is her own three children, (Amarai, Kyson, and Kase) who also attend schools within the district.

Daniel RogersMeet Daniel Rogers, Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Dodge City Middle School! Rogers started his career in education as a substitute teacher and timeout supervisor at DCHS while coaching football at DCMS and baseball at DCHS. Following his work experience, he attended Wichita State University and received a Bachelor of Arts in preK-12 physical education. He immediately accepted a position at Ross Elementary, where he is teaching today. 

In 2021, Rogers earned his Master of Science in educational leadership from Fort Hays State University and obtained his school leadership license. He has served as a mentor teacher, a member of the COVID Academic Workgroup, organized and led the district Kansas Kids Fitness Day, and served on the Professional Learning Steering Committee and Ross Elementary Building Leadership Team.

Daniel loves to spend time with his family, Amanda Rincones, her daughter Shyanne Rincones, a sophomore at DCHS, and their son Elijah Rogers. Daniel and Amanda are expecting their second son within the next month. They enjoy their time at home, Cross Connection Church, and attending DCHS and DCCC sporting events. They are avid Kansas Jayhawk, Kansas City Royals, and Kansas City Chiefs fans, but when Daniel can, he gets serious about fly fishing.

When asked about his new role in the district, Daniel said, “I am excited to use my knowledge and passion to help students and student-athletes achieve at higher levels than they even think possible. I’m grateful for the USD 443 teachers and administrators who guided me as a student. As a result, I will strive to pass on the traits I have learned to help our school family grow and succeed.”
